Tenpin in Schools

New in 2011, we are taking bowling to the schools. Introducing: Roll 'N' Strike

The Roll 'N' Strike program was developed right here in Australia and has been highly successful, particularly in Queensland. Students who participate in this program will learn some very versatile skills - in particular better balance and hand/eye co-ordination - and have fun doing it. Everybody is on equal footing with this program, the 'less athletic' students are often surprised to discover just how much ability they have.

How it works

The basic process is quite easy;

  1. Book a Roll 'N' Strike kit from the Association (one kit contains five lanes and caters for a class size up to 30)
  2. Copy the resource materials (just for the teachers, this program is mostly practical!)
  3. Take delivery of the kit. The kit is stored at a school for the loan term and you will need to keep it clean and safe - we'll advise you how and there's no complicated trick there.
  4. At class time, take the kits out to a hard flat surface (like the basketball court or school hall). Simply unroll the lanes and unpack some pins
  5. Take an excursion or two to your local centre (we'll organise all of this with the school during the booking process)
  6. Return the kit (we'll come pick it up)

Is it expensive?

Not at all, the program cost for 6 weeks is $65 per student, and covers administration, equipment hire, the program itself, and two excursions to your local centre. We'll even deliver the equipment, help the teacher get the idea under control, and then collect it later.
